The Experiment
Let’s do an experiment.
You are 47 years old. You are in good health and you did pretty well. You married the love of your life, live in a beautiful house and can afford anything you want, really. You are not crazy rich, but rich enough so that money is not an issue. You work but it doesn’t take every single waking minute of your week.
In other words, you “made it”.
But you ask yourself. Did I though?
You feel like you won a game you never chose to play, with rules not written anywhere and changing constantly. Sometimes, the world changes. Sometimes, you change. Either way, you always struggled to pinpoint what really matters to you.
Some call it balance.
Funnily, you felt this many times in your life. Probably since you are 20. And every single time, you felt that it was too late and you’d better just go on playing the game you are currently playing. It’s not that bad after all. Ironically, every single time, you feel like if you had really taken some time to think the time before, it would have been better and that you were not too old that last time but now you are.
And the cycle goes on, year after year.
But this year, it’s different. You are ready to put the time into thinking. You are 47 and you are finally ready to find the purpose of your life.
That thing that finally makes “optimization” possible. Because optimizing for a changing target is more or less the same as randomness. But with a clear, stable goal in mind, you feel like you can get the most out of these few years on this funny planet that is Earth.
So you start thinking.
Some want to see it all, to taste every meal on the planet. Some want to avoid the mundane part of life. Others want to get away from the pain and the hard moments of existence.
You? You want freedom. Your clear, stable goal is simply… the ability to chase any goal you might have at some point.
To do so, you need:
- Time
- Financial Autonomy
- Emotional Safety
- Health
Yep, nothing more. Let’s deep dive into every one.
